What if you could speak English during an international business meeting and have your words translated into Spanish almost immediately? That’s the idea behind Utell AI—and I decided to put it to the test.
Disclosure: This article and the featured video are sponsored by Utell AI. My observations are based on a hands-on demonstration.
Working with people around the world has become easier than ever. Entrepreneurs can hire international freelancers, communicate with overseas suppliers, and collaborate with clients thousands of miles away. But there’s still one challenge technology hasn’t completely eliminated: the language barrier.
Even when two people understand a little of each other’s language, important details can get lost in translation. That’s where Utell AI comes in. In my latest Inside Your Hustle video, I tested its real-time voice translation capabilities to see how the software might help people communicate across languages.

In this video, I walk through installing Utell AI, translating my English into Spanish, testing an international business conversation, and reversing the translation from Spanish into English.

What Is Utell AI?
Utell AI is a desktop application designed to make spoken communication easier through AI-powered translation and accent conversion. Rather than relying entirely on traditional text-based translation, it focuses on conversations.
- Real-time voice translation: Translate speech between supported languages during conversations.
- Accent conversion: A feature intended to help make speech clearer when pronunciation differences create communication challenges.
- Desktop audio integration: Work with audio devices and communication applications.
- Multilingual communication: Support interactions between people speaking different languages.
For entrepreneurs who work internationally, these features could be useful. But features listed on a website are one thing. I wanted to see how Utell performed when I actually used it.
My First Test: English-to-Spanish Voice Translation
I started with a simple test. After installing Utell on my Windows computer, I selected English as my spoken language and Spanish as the translation language. Then I spoke directly into my microphone.
One of my first sentences was: “Hello, this is CeCe!”
Utell processed my English speech and generated a Spanish translation. I also tried “Welcome to Inside Your Hustle” to see how it handled a familiar, everyday expression.
What interested me most was observing the translation process instead of just copying text into a translator. The software displayed the recognized speech and its translation, and I recorded the translated audio so viewers could hear the result.
As with other real-time tools, performance can vary depending on audio quality, speech clarity, language choice, and the complexity of the conversation.
My Second Test: An International Business Conversation
Now, saying hello is easy. But what happens when the conversation involves a real business project?
For the next demonstration, I imagined speaking with an international freelancer or business partner. I used sentences about project updates, deadlines, and requests for previews—for example, “When do you think you’ll have the first version ready?”
That’s different from translating a basic greeting. When you’re communicating with a freelancer, supplier, or client, details matter. A misunderstood deadline or incorrectly translated request could create confusion and additional work.
This is why I wanted to try longer, more practical sentences. It’s not just about translating words; it’s about helping people work together.
My Third Test: Translating Spanish Back Into English
Communication is a two-way street. If I can translate my English into Spanish, I also need a way to understand someone speaking Spanish to me.
For my third demonstration, I used Spanish-language footage and tested Utell’s ability to translate the speech into English. It let me explore the listening side of an international conversation—an equally important part of communicating across languages.
Instead of expecting everyone to speak fluent English, translation tools may help bridge some of those differences.
What About Utell’s Accent Conversion Feature?
Utell also offers accent conversion. Unlike language translation, accent conversion focuses on adjusting aspects of pronunciation to improve clarity while keeping the conversation in the same language.
Imagine two people speaking English but having difficulty understanding certain words because of different pronunciation patterns. Accent conversion is designed with that kind of situation in mind. I mention the feature in my video, although I focused my hands-on testing on real-time translation.
Five Ways Entrepreneurs Could Use AI Voice Translation
- International freelancers: Discuss projects, deadlines, revisions, and expectations with collaborators who speak different languages.
- Overseas suppliers: Work through general questions about products, orders, and shipping while confirming any critical details separately.
- Remote teams: Make everyday team conversations easier across language differences.
- International customers: Explore ways to support multilingual conversations with people in other countries.
- New business opportunities: Feel more confident starting conversations with potential partners in other markets.
None of these uses eliminates the need for careful communication. They show why real-time voice translation is worth exploring.
Is Utell AI Worth Trying?
What interests me about Utell is the communication problem it’s trying to solve. You don’t need to run a huge international company to benefit from clearer conversations. Even a solo entrepreneur might work with an overseas graphic designer, virtual assistant, manufacturer, or business partner.
AI translation isn’t perfect. I wouldn’t rely on it without verification for legal agreements, financial commitments, critical specifications, or other situations where an incorrect translation could have serious consequences.
For everyday conversations, brainstorming, project updates, and general communication, it’s certainly technology worth watching.
Final Thoughts
One of my favorite things about exploring AI tools for Inside Your Hustle is finding technology that could solve real problems for entrepreneurs—and language barriers are a real problem.
Utell AI is one example of how artificial intelligence is being used to make international communication more accessible. Whether you’re running a side hustle, managing a remote team, or building a business that serves people around the world, understanding each other matters.
